Welcome to DI Content Narrator – Automatic Text-to-Speech
DI Content Narrator is a lightweight WordPress plugin that automatically converts your post text content into audio. It adds an audio player to your posts, allowing your users to listen to the content instead of reading it.
The plugin uses the browser’s built-in Text-to-Speech engine, requiring no external APIs or paid services. It is lightweight, easy to configure, and supports Posts, Pages, and Custom Post Types.

How It Works
DI Content Narrator automatically converts your post content into speech using the browser’s built-in Text-to-Speech (TTS) engine. Once the plugin is enabled, it handles the entire process automatically.
Content Processing
- When a post or page is published or updated, the plugin extracts the text content from the post.
- HTML tags, shortcodes, and unnecessary formatting are removed to create clean, readable text.
- The processed content is stored and prepared for audio playback.
Audio Playback
- When a visitor opens the post, the audio player appears based on your selected display position.
- Clicking the Play button starts reading the post aloud using the visitor’s browser’s built-in Text-to-Speech engine.
- Visitors can Play, Pause, Resume, or Stop the narration at any time.
- The player also displays the current reading progress during playback.
Installation
System Requirements
- WordPress 6.x or later
- PHP 7.4 or higher (Recommended PHP 8.x)

Manual Installation
Follow the steps below to install the plugin manually on your server.
Step 1: Download and Extract
- Download the plugin package and extract the ZIP file on your computer.
Step 2: Upload the Plugin
- Using an FTP client such as **FileZilla** or your hosting **File Manager**, upload the **di-content-narrator** folder to the following directory
Step 3: Activate the Plugin
- Log in to your WordPress Admin Dashboard and navigate to:Plugins → Installed Plugins Locate **DI Content Narrator** and click **Activate**.
Step 4: Configure the Plugin
- Settings → DI Content Narrator
- Configure the plugin settings and click **Save Changes**.
- The plugin is now installed and ready to use.
